You can start it at any time and write the month you commence at the beginning of the Journal and as each new month arrives. Each day of the month has been entered for you.  This version also allows you to be able to print it out and use year after year.

what is a gratitude journal?

A Gratitude Journal can really be any kind of note book, or diary, in which you make daily entries of five occurrences that took place during your day of which you were grateful. You would complete these entries in about three minutes each evening prior to going to bed. When you get into the swing of using your Gratitude Journal daily, you will begin to enjoy this quality time reliving these wonderful experiences.

Your entries don't have to be monumental life changing events and are often a list of small experiences which added to the quality of your day. They don't have to be written in story format and might only be short sentences, or even single words. As this is YOUR Gratitude Journal all that is really needed is that the entries make sense to you and they allow you to relive the experience again in your mind.

Some days may have been filled with wonderful experiences so the words just spill out of you onto the page. Whereas some other days events might not be so obvious, especially while you are just beginning to use a Gratitude Journal for the first time. It is then when you stand back and look at the bigger picture and show gratitude for having a roof over your head and food to eat; a comfortable bed to sleep in and warm clothes to wear. We can also be grateful for the joy our pets bring into our lives and the random acts of kindness they seem to give us at just the right moments every day. All of these sort of things will evoke an positive emotion within you and that is all part of the benefit of using a Gratitude Journal.

The thing about gratitude is that the more you practice it, the easier it becomes, and the easier it becomes, the more you will practice it. One of the fundamental reasons for building a gratitude habit is that it feels so good! Yes, healthy and honest gratitude really does make you feel good! Not to mention, to be thankful and grateful for all the things in your life feels astoundingly better than focusing on the few negative aspects and complaining any day.

 

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU WHEN YOU USE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL

Wonderful things begin happening to you when you use a Gratitude Journal! It is as if a switch has been turned on within you and you become a gratitude magnet. You see things to be grateful for everywhere. You see them because you are now looking for them and will make a mental note to include them in your Gratitude Journal that night. Little things will start to happen, for example, you might get safely into your car before it started raining; or a friend will phone you at just the 'right' time; or you will discover that parking space exactly where you need it to be; or you will find a $20 note in the pocket of a coat you haven't warn for a long time, just when you need it; or out of the blue someone will offer you a seat when your feet are aching; or your child will pick just the right moment to tell you they love you; or your cat/dog will wonder over and give you a lick on the leg for no apparent reason which will make you smile; or the sun will shine on a special day; or a stranger will offer you a smile while you are out walking; or someone new enters your life at just the right time to assist you when needed; or many, many BIG positive life changing events will occur because you were more alert to what was happening around you and you were ready to see them when they arrived. Hundreds of big and small experiences will seemingly  magically appear and present themselves.

While you are enjoying discovering so many things around you to be grateful for, something else inside you also changes. Your actions become more in tune with the needs of other people you encounter throughout your day. Without even realising it, you begin to offer random acts of kindness yourself. You will begin doing things which you would like to enter into your Gratitude Journal for others.

The quality of your life improves immeasurably. Your self-esteem and self-image begins to sore and your heart fills will joy and gratitude.

All of this - and more - happens because you chose to spend three minutes each night entering five things which happened during your day of which you were grateful! So simple, and so wonderful!

 

 

WHY USE A GRATITUDE JOURNAL IN DIARY FORM?

A diary makes a fabulous Gratitude Journal for the obvious reason that the diary separates information into days so you can clearly see your daily entries and are mentally tuned into completing your entries on a daily bases. It is VERY important that you get into the habit of using your Gratitude Journal EVERY day.

Our FREE Gratitude Journal / Diary© prints out on A4 paper and has two days per page including lines. This gives you lots of room to use each day. It is recommended that you use this diary ONLY as your Gratitude Journal and record any other daily reminders in another diary. It is also recommended that you print out the Gratitude Journal / Diary© as soon as you download it. Experience has proven that if you only print it out in sections you run the risk of getting out of the habit of recording into your Gratitude Journal when you run out of your pages. This is purely because you hadn't completed the chore of another print run. Our FREE Gratitude Journal / Diary© has been created to be printed out in book form. If your printer doesn't print in duplex (printing the front and back of each page at the same time) all you will need to do is print out all of the odd pages - turn the pages over and ensure they are in the order of printing the second page on the back of the first page - and then print the even pages (sometimes each page has to be turned and the order of pages reversed). You can then hole punch the printed pages and place them into a soft folder for safe keeping in your bedroom.
